Courtyard, Tamil House
Courtyards were often an integral part of homes in Tamil Nadu. They helped promote airflow, give light, and sometimes cooking or other daily functions occurred here.
Do you mean the one in Mylapore, near the temple? It was neat to see the traditional house engaged in everyday activities such as making the kolam by the cooking area - before such homes all are gone.
